Year-one IB students visited the exhibition SUBURBIA – BUILDING THE AMERICAN DREAM at the CCCB. The exhibition dates back to the origins of residential neighborhoods in the early 19th century, explains their massive development in the 1950s, reviews the economic, political and social context of their incessant expansion across the United States and makes connection with the “model of urbanization” which brings us to the housing bubble in Spain. Students were asked to answer a series of questions by collecting information from different exhibition spaces which they will need to write an essay in their English class. An intense morning full of thinking and discussions with a group of curious students.
